Our Story…

In managing my own farm, I found a handful of challenges that would add to the burdens of the daily minutia of farm operations. Things broke frequently. There was always something new I “didn’t know”. There was always somebody I needed for specific trade experience/knowledge to help with the farm. This lack of resources and knowledge or skills to do some of the tasks attributed to contracting out help. My financial spending to manage the unknown of the farm was more than what I had anticipated.

In this journey I noticed the issues were amplified even more when I extended my operations to poultry. A single error could prove devastating. Still, I trudged through these challenges and befriended many industry experts to get the tricks and tips down. Over time, I was getting it, but still something new would come up… that slaps me in the face. Welcome to running a farm. I came to conclude that I was not living in my own world of ignorance, and many people found similar challenges in running a farm. It was NORMAL. I found comfort in that. I found comfort in a community that told me it was ok, and they were there for me. In time, I was doing the same for others.

I realized not everybody would have the support system, or have the grit to withstand through the test of time to survive the problems upon problems. It was devastating to see a good % give up because they can’t financially handle it or the stress is too much. They have already come to realize that they are ‘farmers' they're not supposed to make any money…however, losing money is a blow they can’t continuously survive.

Roobeez was created to help fellow farmers get resourced, connect with a community that can support them, and skilled in various aspects of farming and become profitable! Yes, you heard it, farms should be profitable. With more farms experiencing positive margins, they can thrive and grow, instead of give up and go.

The problem.

The alarming truth is - 100,000 farms have closed in the past decade, according to the USDA. While there is a number of reasons, ultimately financial struggles play a huge part in many moving forward with closure.

Meanwhile, with international affairs at bay, pandemics, recessions, and questionable quality in global food imports, and more… the interest in food sources grown and sourced locally is increasing.

Furthermore, the pandemic exposed that it would become a struggle to rely international food sources and it opens our eyes to the risks of food dependency. Overall, we should be concerned about our most valuable resource - our food.

The solution.

Roobeez is shifting the paradigms of farming by showcasing the first technology-based, organized support community and marketplace designated for the poultry and small farms market.

Our goal is to develop a central hub where we enable our user’s easy searchability of various resources, poultry and farm-related educational information, and connect in one place!
